GENERAL INFORMATION CONCERNING SPANISH PORTS

SASEMAR (Spanish Maritime Salvage Agency) Spanish state company responsible for the services of search, rescue, salvage and prevention and fight against pollution in a geographical area of 1,500,000 km2.The National Plan of Salvage Services is still under development and there are presently fifteen Salvage Co-ordination Centres along the Spanish Coast.24 hours day free emergency number: 900 202 202
OFFICIAL TARIFFS These tariffs are requested by the Port Authorities for the port services directly rendered by them:T-0 (Maritime Signalling); T-1 (Ships); T-2 (Passengers); T-3 (Cargo); T-4 (Fresh Fish); T-5 (Yachts and recreational craft); T-6 (Gantry cranes); T-7 (Warehousing); T-8 (Supplies); T-9 (Miscellaneous Services)Exemption: Under reciprocity, foreign vessels not carrying out commercial operations and falling off.The “Ministerio de Fomento” (Department of Public Works, Agriculture, Commerce and Transport), through law O.M. 30.07.98, establishes the rules to be applied to these port tariffs.
OTHER TARIFFS Applied to those port services that are not directly rendered by the Port Authorities, but are rendered by private companies linked with the Port Authority through a contract. The conditions and prices therefore vary from one port to another and are previously approved by the Port Authority. These tariffs are, within others:Tugs tariffs, Pilotage tariffs, Mooring and unmooring rates, Water supplies, etc.
SALVAGE TARIFFS The “Ministerio de Fomento”, through law Orden 02.03.99, establishes the tariffs to be applied to those services rendered by SASEMAR as a state company.Exclusions: salvage of life at sea and fight against pollution of the marine medium, within others.
