STEVEDORE STRIKE CONVENED FOR 20, 22 & 24 FEBRUARY 2017
The State Coordinator of Sea Workers (CETM for its name in Spanish) has convened a strike for its 6,150 workers to protest against the reform of the current stevedores contract/hiring system announced by the Spanish Ministry of Development.
This strike will take place in the odd/uneven hours from:
-  08:00 hours of February 20th  to 08:00 hours of  February 21st
-  08:00 hours of February 22nd to 08:00 hours of February 23rd
-  08:00 hours of February 24th to 08:00 hours of February 25th
The strike does not require minimum services and therefore if an agreement is not reached during today Tuesday February 14th meeting, the strike would still be legal, since it meets the requirements established by the Spanish Royal Law Decree 17/1977.
This strike will not affect the passenger vessels’ services.

CONVOCADA HUELGA DE ESTIBADORES PAR A 20, 22 & 24 DE FEBRERO 2017
 6.150 trabajadores del sector portuario han sido convocados por la Coordinadora Estatal de Trabajadores del Mar (CETM) a una huelga en todos los puertos de España para protestar contra la liberalización del sistema actual de contratación de los estibadores portuarios anunciada por el Ministerio de Fomento.
Esta huelga se realizarÃa en las horas impares desde:
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Las 08:00 horas del 20 de febrero a las 08:00 horas del 21 de febrero;
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Las 08:00 horas del 22 de febrero a las 08:00 horas del 23 de febrero y
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Las 08:00 horas del 24 de febrero a las 08:00 horas del 25 de febrero.
La huelga planteada no requiere de servicios mÃnimos, por lo que si no se alcanzara un acuerdo durante la reunión de hoy Martes 14 de Febrero, la huelga serÃa igualmente legal, pues cumple los requisitos del Real Decreto-Ley 17/1977.
Este paro no afectará al servicio a los buques de pasajeros.
